Cellulite Treatment

Cellulite is a common skin condition where fat deposits push through the connective tissue beneath the skin, creating a dimpled or lumpy appearance—often on the thighs, buttocks, and abdomen. It affects both slim and overweight individuals and is influenced by factors like hormones, genetics, skin thickness, and circulation. While not harmful, treatments such as radiofrequency, acoustic wave therapy, laser, and topical products can help reduce its appearance by improving skin firmness and stimulating collagen

Cellulite is caused by fat pushing through connective tissue under the skin, creating a dimpled appearance. Treatments like Radiofrequency, laser, Roller Vaccum RF+IR Therapy, Meso-Cellulite, EMS, and subcision help reduce cellulite by tightening skin, breaking down fibrous bands, and stimulating collagen. Multiple sessions are usually needed for noticeable improvement.
How you prepare

Before your laser resurfacing, a member of your healthcare team:

Asks about your medical history

Be prepared to answer questions about current and past medical conditions and any medicines you are taking or have recently taken. You also might be asked about previous cosmetic procedures you’ve had and how you react to sun exposure. For example, do you burn easily? Rarely?

Does a physical exam

A physical exam before body contouring treatment includes a thorough assessment of the patient’s body composition and measurements to ensure safety and customize the treatment plan. This typically involves:

  • Body fat measurements using tools like calipers or bioelectrical impedance analysis

  • Waist and hip circumference measurements to calculate the waist-to-hip ratio

  • Body Mass Index (BMI) calculation based on height and weight

  • Overall physical health evaluation to check for contraindications or medical conditions

  • Skin quality and elasticity assessment in the treatment areas

Reviews your expectations

Before body contouring treatment, reviewing your expectations is an important part of the consultation process. This involves:

  • Discussing your desired outcomes and goals

  • Clarifying what the treatment can realistically achieve

  • Explaining the procedure steps, possible results, and limitations

  • Addressing any concerns or questions you may have

  • Setting a clear, mutual understanding to ensure satisfaction and avoid misunderstandings

What you can expect

Before body contouring treatment, it’s important to understand that results appear gradually and may require multiple sessions spaced 2 to 4 weeks apart. Aftercare typically includes following guidelines like resting, staying hydrated, and sometimes wearing compression garments. Clear communication about realistic outcomes, treatment plans, and aftercare helps ensure the best results and patient satisfaction.
